Street Art: Mexico
Street Art Images from the Mexican states of Quintana Roo and Yucatán
Known mostly for its wonderful food, stunning weather, and its problematic relationship with drugs, brutal cartels, and violence to me Mexico remains a wonderful country and is an endless source of photographic inspiration. Along with conventional street photography, the one thing that really stands out to me here in Mexico is the unreasonably impressive street art that brings life, colour, and vibrancy to the urban landscapes of this troubled nation. There are few better ways to spend a day here than taking in an espresso at a local café, enjoying tamale, and then heading out to capture the work of Mexico’s street artists. Everytime I head out on a day like this I am humbled by their skill and artistry that blends pre-Hispanic culture, nature, animals, and the dead with modern Mexico.
